Poodles - Breed Description
Poodles are national dogs of France, popular all over the world for their cute appearance, lively temperament and versatility. There are three varieties of the Poodle: the Standard Poodle, Miniature and Toy. The Poodle is a very elegant dog breed. It is well proportioned and squarely built. The three varieties differ mostly in height. The Standard Poodle is the oldest of the three varieties of Poodles.

The dog's muzzle is straight and strong. The eyes are dark and oval in shape. The ears hang close to the head. The strong teeth should meet in a scissor bite.
The Poodle's chest is rather deep. The loin is short and muscular. The forelegs are straight and strong. The small feet are oval in shape. The straight tail is set on high and carried up.
The Poodle's coat is curly, dense, and of a harsh texture. The coat comes in solid blues, apricots, browns, grays, silvers and creams.

Poodles - Temperament
Good-natured and friendly, intelligent and dignified, sensitive and proud, the Poodle has a happy disposition and a lively nature. Some Standard Poodles are good guard dogs. Standard Poodles tend to be a little calmer than their smaller varieties.
